D.C. Superior Court Seeks Family Court Panel Attorneys

The Family Court division of D.C. Superior Court is seeking members of the D.C. Bar to serve on any of the seven Family Court Panels. The attorneys are approved to represent parties of limited means in several types of family court proceedings, including abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency, mental health, mental habilitation, juvenile post-commitment, and special education. The court welcomes applications from attorneys with limited to no experience in these areas.   
 
Additionally, the court is accepting applications for the Juvenile Delinquency Panel.  If approved to serve, attorneys must attend training prior to being appointed to these cases. The deadline to apply is October 31, 2025.

Superior Court Amends Tax, Landlord and Tenant Procedure Rules

On October 29 the Superior Court of the District of Columbia issued Promulgation Order 25-03 amending Rules of Procedure for the Tax Division 1, 2, 3, 4, 4-I, 5, 6, 6-I, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 13-I, and 14. The court also issued Promulgation Order 25-04 amending Rules of Procedure for the Landlord and Tenant Branch 2, 5, 6, 12-I, 13-I, and 14.

Washington Lawyer Wins NABE Luminary Award

The District of Columbia Bar’s Washington Lawyer magazine earned another Luminary Award from the National Association for Bar Professionals (NABE) Communication Section during its annual workshop held this year in Boise, Idaho, from October 15 to 17.
